Notice to Charbonneau residents and guests

CGCI posts safety signs at golf course entry points

Now that the dust has settled a bit from the merger of the Charbonneau Golf Club , Inc . ( CGCI ) with a subsidiary of Charbonneau Country Club ( CCC ), resulting in Charbonneau Golf Club , Inc . becoming a subsidiary of Charbonneau Country Club , it is a good time to clarify and remind all Charbonneau residents of the management rights and responsibilities of each entity .
In some regards , Charbonneau Golf Club , Inc . is now under the umbrella of the Charbonneau Country Club . However , CGCI continues to be an independent company with an independent board of directors . That board , together with OB Sports , who contracts with the CGCI board to manage the day-today activities of the golf club , will continue to manage the daily operations and general use policies of the golf course . Those areas are not within CCC ’ s control , nor were they ever intended to be .
Under the Agreement of Merger , it is anticipated that CCC and CGCI will work together in the future to develop what can be called “ common element ” agreements . These agreements could lead to clearly and narrowly defined resident enjoyment rights allowing occasional use of specific golf course property at specified times and for specified purposes . A joint committee is beginning work on that project . But unregulated use of golf course cart paths or other golf course property is strictly prohibited and is expected to remain so .
CGCI has posted signs throughout the community at entry points to the golf course banning the use of the cart paths and other golf course property for walking , jogging or other casual use . These signs continue to be ignored by some , and / or removed . This presents an extreme danger factor for those trespassing , and an extreme liability factor for both CCC and CGCI . Unauthorized use of golf course property constitutes trespass . Removal of signs constitutes theft . Both CCC and CGCI must vigorously enforce these rules for the safety and financial security of our residents .
At this time , access to the golf course , and golf course cart paths , is allowed only by paying green fees and / or buying an annual membership at the pro shop , and only while playing a scheduled round of golf in accordance with course rules , or performing authorized volunteer services for CGCI . The danger factor of someone being
