Club and its residents can utilize golf club facilities including the golf course , cart paths , etc . Due to the dangers of non-golfers being hit by a golf ball , the “ common element ” issues are complex and will take some time to figure out . In the end , all course usage rules are controlled by the Golf Club .
It is anticipated that some initial “ common elements ” will be developed and put in place sometime in 2021 . In the interim , it is absolutely critical that Charbonneau residents and their guests stay off the cart paths and fairways , greens and other golf course playing areas except when playing an
authorized round of golf in compliance with Golf Course rules . The risk of serious injury resulting from unauthorized trespass is both real and severe . Please be safe . There is a lot to look forward to in tomorrow ’ s Charbonneau .

Charbonneau experiences season of transition

Activity Center project receives overwhelming positive feedback from community

By CLARA HOWELL Charbonneau community members are already starting to see some changes — and people in leadership roles say more positive change is coming .
During the community meeting Aug . 26 , the webinar focused on the development of the Village Center . The three projects that were identified were the Activity Center , the redevelopment of the clubhouse building — which is being referred to as the Event Center — and the potential for the addition of a pickleball court at the tennis center .
“ We were trying to gain some sort of information from the community about a direction to proceed in ,” said Kathy Fuller , co-chair of the Charbonneau Village Center Development Task Force .
Kathy added that they received positive
feedback and direction for the Activity Center , Event Center and the pickleball court .
For all three projects , community leaders discussed what the project currently looks like , the estimated cost , timeframe for construction — though the Activity Center is the only project that is well underway . They also received questions and feedback from the community .
For the Activity Center , community members viewed floor plans — which will be on display on the backside of the clubhouse soon — concepts for interior designs and exterior landscapes .
Kathy said most activities in the clubhouse would be moved to the Activity Center including games , exercise classes , art classes , classroom activities , administration offices , the library and the storage for Sunshine Service .
The Activity Center will be roughly 17,000 square feet , two stories and handicap accessible .
The center will cost about $ 6.2 million going forward , though this amount is financed and funded out of existing assessment levels .

The Activity Center project will likely break ground in the first quarter of 2021 .
“ We have planned well for this project ,” said Anne Shevlin , co-chair of the Charbonneau Village Center Development Task Force .
The country club is working with three key groups on the Activity Center : Access Architecture , construction management company BC Group and general contractor R & H Construction .
The project is supposed to break ground in the first quarter of 2021 , with an estimated completion date for late fall 2021 .
As for the Event Center and pickleball court , leaders have received approval to move forward but the plans are still in the development stage .
After a poll was taken on the Event Center and pickleball court , there was 96 % approval for the Event Center and 82 % on the concept for pickleball .
“ The concept is all-weather pickleball courts ,” said Charbonneau Country Club President Eugene Tish . “ There are various location options .”
The Event Center proposal includes a new restaurant , indoor and outdoor dining and a coffee shop .
CCC leaders say the work couldn ’ t have been accomplished without the collaborative effort with the Charbonneau
Golf Club and the Charbonneau Tennis Club and Tennis Club Board .
“ People are really excited about what ’ s happening in Charbonneau ,” Anne said . “ It ’ s a vibe of excitement .”
Eugene acknowledged this entire effort has been building over several years , adding that the current leaders have a can-do attitude and the community is ready to get things done .
“ I think it ’ s a tremendous relief to the community now that things are starting to happen ,” Eugene said . “ We need to do these things . We need to build for 10 years from now , 20 years from now .”
