Vicky Klingerman led the efforts to help those affected by recent wildfires .
The final season of golf has closed as of Oct . 27 . While sad to see it go , we must celebrate considering the limitations of the pan-
HARTLAUB
demic . The last board meeting for 2020 was on Friday , Oct . 2 . At this time we wish to thank the board : President Mary Fieweger , Co-Vice Presidents Judy Cain and Kathy Hartlaub , Secretary Alice Swartz and Treasurer Karen Siegel . This was an exceptionally challenging year , and because we missed out on some of our usual activities , these people have graciously agreed to continue in their current positions for next year . Board meetings will resume in January . In addition , we would like to thank the committee chairs . These dedicated Niners tallied scores through the new GHIN program , graced us with fun scrambles , held the Championship Tournament and held a socially-distanced toast to the winners in our new pavilion .
The Niners wish to acknowledge our member , Vicky Klingerman , for her outreach to help families affected by devastation
and hardship in recent wildfires . Vicky has cousins and friends in Molalla . Faith-based and having a desire to help , she reached out via the Charbonneau website for food , monetary donations , etc . The response : “ My entryway was full !” There were mattresses , sleeping bags , gas gift cards , monetary contributions and food items . I had three carloads of donations to take to Bentley ’ s Feed Store for distribution to the firefighters and displaced families . And we , the Niners , thank Vicky for being such an active and compassionate person !
New members by Judy Cain
Brynda Starner — Brynda brings a spark of enthusiasm to our Niner group . We welcome her and look forward to a commitment of active participation in meeting new people and continued love of the
CAIN
game . Brynda played golf in her younger years and
like many of us took time out for career and family . Her time and eagerness to play and work on her game is the reason she has connected with the Niner group .
Marilyn Huntsinger — Welcome Marilyn ! Marilyn resides in Woodburn and is joined by her friends Erika Stevens and Margie Coffey , also new Niners this year . All three live on the OGA course in Woodburn . Marilyn is from Eastern Washington . Lucky for her , she also lived in Hawaii and Boise , Idaho . She has been in Oregon since 1966 . She has five children and two grandkids . She is a retired office manager and now spends time with family , friends and golf . Marilyn thanks Sandy McCallister as her welcoming big sister and all members who so graciously welcomed her .
Cheryl Barnum .
Seasoned Niners by Cheryl Barnum The Niners are so lucky to have someone like Joanna Sawyer join the nine-hole group of golfers . She has brought fun , music and dancing to the Niners , their families and friends .
Joanna started the dance group called “ The Charbonnets ” in 2004 after connecting with Helen Heestand , another “ seasoned Niner ” to help with the end-of-the-year Niners Golf banquet . Joanna contributed her musical talent to the banquet . She started dancing as a little girl , was the coach for the Hillsboro Dance Team for 10 years and tap danced

Over the years , she choregraphed “ Best Little Whorehouse in Charbonneau ,” “ Can-Can ,” “ Western Dance ,” and “ Charbonneau Does Disney .” The first year of the dance there were only 10 gals and now it has grown to 18 or more of us . Her patience in teaching the dance line is incredible . Her choice of music , costumes and writing the history on each song is spectacular . Some of the ladies had danced but it was the first time for others . We ranged in ages 67
