Charbonneau Tennis Club

By STEVE HALL
After 16 years , I have decided to step down as the manager of the Charbonneau Tennis Club ( CTC ). During this period , I have made many friends doing work that I am passionate about . It has been very satisfying for me from a business standpoint to have led an effort to create a lofty vision for the CTC and to have seen that vision materialize through the use of disciplined business processes and dedicated
workers . The support of the CTC Board and club members in this effort has been greatly appreciated . At this point in my life I am transitioning my tennis energies from managing the CTC to preserving the rich history of tennis in the Pacific Northwest . To accomplish this , I plan to continue serving as :
Chairman of the Oregon Tennis Historical Committee
Chairman of the USTA / PNW Historical Committee
Oregon State University Varsity Board member representing tennis
I also plan to devote more time to my alpine garden . You are invited to tour the garden next spring when the tiny alpines are in their full glory .
Kathi Gray to be the new CTC manager
I am happy to announce that the future management of the CTC will be in good hands as the current CTC president Kathi Gray will be replacing me effective Nov . 1 . Kathi is uniquely qualified and I am confident that she will do a good job . The following is taken from Kathi ’ s application to the CTC ’ s Board for the position :
“ Thank you for considering me for this position . My love of our tennis club and of Charbonneau drives me to continually contribute my time and talents . I have resided in Charbonneau for over five years as an active member of the Charbonneau
Tennis Club . Currently serving as CTC Board President has uniquely qualified me for the position of Club Manager . My previous experience serving on boards and HOA ’ s gives me the unique experience of knowing all levels of management . As HOA President , I led homeowners through a successful 21 million dollar remodel of our resort complex . I have been chairman of fundraising for a county wide organization . My Management skills of over 40 years as owner / manager of real estate provides me with on-time scheduling and emergency experiences .
