Jen Chavez joins the country club as offi ce administrator

When Jen Chavez was interviewed for the office administrator position at the Charbonneau Country Club , she remembers learning about the new developments — like the Activity Center , the merger and the marina parking lot — in the community . Jen said she immediately knew the CCC would be a good fit for her career .
“( There ’ s a ) lot of opportunity for growth for everyone ,” Jen said .
Jen started her job at the CCC April 7 doing customer service and communications relations , resident database management and account payables — to name a few duties .
“ I am always on the move and I am enjoying that ,” Jen said . “ There ’ s a lot of opportunity here and I ’ m excited to take on more because there are plenty of projects going on .”
Jen resides in Wilsonville and previously worked as a hairdresser before making a career shift to a receptionist and administrator at Subaru . She later worked as an assistant to Eric Graham , the then chief operating officer of OMSI , who ’ s now the CEO .
“ She is the type of woman strive to be like one day . I remember her being strong , intelligent and well-respected — a phenomenal leader , super smart , super business-savvy ,” Jen said . “ I learned a lot from that place .”
But due to the layoffs during the pandemic , her time there came to an end .
• Panel Changes • Hot tubs
• Remodels • Generators
• Lighting Additions
Now Jen works full-time at the CCC , while also working toward her bachelor ’ s degree and eventually master ’ s degree . She ’ s going to school for business administration , focusing on marketing and organizational leadership . Jen , 29 , said she wanted to go to school for a long time but didn ’ t have the opportunity because she had to be independent since she was 18 .
“ Finance was a bit of a barrier . I had to sustain myself by working full time ,” Jen said . “ When the pandemic happened , schools became more flexible and they started offering everything online .”
Jen said she loves serving as an administrator but is currently working toward her career .
“ I am passionate about strategic planning , creative and collaborative team-based projects , problem-solving and helping people ,” Jen said . “ I want to add that more into my life through my career and that ’ s why I chose marketing and organizational leadership .”
Jen said the Charbonneau community ignites that energy .
“ It feels nice to work for such a beautiful place and for such kind people .”

“ This is one of the most beautiful communities that I have seen and not only is it beautiful , but everyone ’ s so kind ,” she said .
When Jen has free time , she enjoys landscape photography , hiking , connecting with family , home improvement work and running .
“ It ’ s my way of stress relief ,” Jen said .
Ultimately , Jen is looking forward to growing in her current position and getting to know the Charbonneau community .
