8 THE CHARBONNEAU VILLAGER August 2020 Couple From Page 7 Mike said. Though Mike was unable to comment on the details of what the new Activity Center will look like, he said, “we can’t really design the new building without understanding what we’re going to do with the space in the old building.” The committee looked at the Village Center as a whole to make sure everything will be copasetic in the area. Mike said he hopes the community will support a major restaurant and bar in the old building, where the current kitchen would just need to be upgraded. He said it would allow the Golf Course to be a “very vibrant money-making operation, which it never has really gotten to that point. It’s all really exciting.” He said it would be a marketable area for tournaments, weddings and other parties. “We feel really privileged to be part of it,” Judy said. Though Judy is currently retired, Mike works for In Your Home, a remodeling company in Tigard. But due to the COVID-19 restrictions, he is only serving local clients in Charbonneau. “I do believe all the people that we talk to, we know that any time somebody can do business with a resident of Charbonneau, that would be the first choice,” Mike said. “It is a really tight knit community and everybody knows everybody to some degree. “For us, I keep saying I’m going to retire, I’m going to retire but I can’t really ever get there for one reason or another.” The Brennans’ dining room.
