Solo Sisters

Missing a few of our
favorite things

Last month, when facing the
task of writing my Solo Sisters
column for the July issue
of The Villager, I
reached out to the membership
since we had not met for three
months and I had nothing to talk
about. I received many great responses,
so I decided to try that tactic
again, but changed the question.
This time, I asked my fellow “sisters”
what they were missing most
during this time of sheltering due
to the COVID-19 pandemic. Once
again, I heard from a number of Solo
Sisters, they just never disappoint
me! My gratitude and appreciation
goes out to those who heeded
my call!
Diane Imel sent me the most heartrending
response when she wrote lovingly
about her daughter. Jodi lives in
Virginia and has been sick for a long
time and is now on hospice. Diane

would love to visit her and hold her in
her arms one more time. As she said,
“there is a deep frustration and sorrow
when you can’t fix your child.”
And that frustration and sorrow is
