Charbonneau
Tennis Club
By STEVE HALL
Full operation will be
considered once Clackamas
County enters Phase 2
The Charbonneau
Tennis Club
has been up and
running now for
about two months
with limited play
because of the CO-
VID-19 pandemic.
HALL
Club members
have been very
conscientious in following the special
rules that have been put in place to
protect them from the virus and to
prevent the spread of the virus.
Full operation will be considered
once the Oregon governor elevates the
virus protection level to Phase 2 for
Clackamas County.
Our tennis pro, Bruce Reed, has submitted
his resignation effective Aug. 4
to take a job as a tennis pro at a country
club in Palm Springs. We will miss
Bruce’s enthusiasm and dedication to
tennis and we wish him well with his
new opportunity. We plan to start recruiting
for a replacement for Bruce
once our area is elevated to Phase 2.
During the interim period we expect to
continue to provide some clinics and
lessons. USTA team play is expected to
resume in September but it is dependent
upon being in Phase 2.
Pickleball is up-and-running and applications
can be obtained and submitted
to Kim Hosford in the country club
office.
The Niners

People can still make
donations to the Knight
Cancer Institute
Dear Charbonneau residents, families
and friends:
It was necessary to cancel the Pink
Ball Golf Tournament 2020. The golf
tournament is the largest event in
Charbonneau and the course and clubhouse
could not accommodate
close to
220 attending the
golf tournament,
luncheon and auctions.
The Niners
have donated over
FIEWEGER $280,000 to the
Knight Cancer Institute
at OHSU
over the last 15 years.
We have decided to continue our support
to the Knight Cancer Institute at
OHSU with donations.
“On behalf of everyone at OHSU
Knight Cancer Institute, thank you for
investing in our work! We are humbled
by and deeply grateful for your trust
and generous yearly support. That you
have chosen, during this very challenging
and tumultuous time in our communities,
to (go) virtual with your event,
makes it all the more meaningful.
Thank you!” said Lisa Nolen, associate
director of community involvement at
the Knight Cancer Institute.
The Charbonneau Niners thank you
for your continued support. We will be
planning a tour of the new Knight Cancer
Institute and will let everyone
know when they open for tours.
Checks can be made payable to the
OHSU Foundation (tax deductible).
Checks can be mailed to our treasurer
Karen Siegel at 32635 SW Lake Point Ct.
