We are excited for summer concerts in the pavilion
This month ’ s Villager theme is “ Family Fun ,” and that fun is visible all over Charbonneau . Neighborhood pools are full of laughing children and smiling
MCLAIN parents and grandparents . The golf course is busy with groups of all ages either hacking or hitting brilliant shots . I especially enjoyed watching a young family recently , with a boy of about age 4 joyfully hitting his ball up the fairway on Red 1 , while mom and dad played their game , encouraging him all the way .
Summer concerts coming to the pavilion
With the 38th Festival of the Arts behind us , Charbonneau Arts Association is basking in the glow of a well-received event that met and exceeded our goals . In addition to raising a record amount

Living directly on the golf course at Charbonneau gives me time to look out on my “ backyard ” and watch other people enjoy the game of golf . Often these are of money for our high school arts grant program , the new Jazz @ Charbonneau festival within a festival has spawned two summer performances sponsored by Charbonneau Arts Association and Charbonneau Country Club . Rebecca and Ray Hardiman were so impressed by the Pavilion as a performance venue , they approached us about doing some summer concerts . Partnering with CCC for the venue and the Market Café for the food and brew , Brubeck and Brews , featuring Ray Hardiman and his band , is set for Saturday , Aug . 6 . As of this writing , we are almost sold out , so check for ticket availability on our website at charbonneauarts . org . The next concert , A Tribute to Karen Carpenter , featuring Rebecca Hardiman and her band , is scheduled for Sunday , Sept . 18 , in the Pavilion . Tickets go on sale soon , via the Charbonneau Arts Association website .
Curated fine-art displays
We are all enjoying the beautiful new Activity Center and appreciate the inclusion of an art wall in the lobby of the new building for the display of art by Charbonneau artists . Charbonneau Arts Association was asked to curate the art that is hung on the new wall and that of the Event Center hallway . Leslie Leeper and Elaine Swyt have taken on this task with a team of artists who will jury the art and manage the display calendar for the two display areas . Interested artists should contact Charbonneau Arts Association at info @ charbonneauarts . org .
couples and occasionally we ’ ll see parents out enjoying a round with their children . When we moved here in 2013 , my wife Debbie did not play golf , but , with some urging from me , she took up the game and even joined the Niners . Today she is hooked . We play together here often and most of our vacations out of town include playing golf together .
One of the great pleasures for us has been both the formal and informal couples golf that take place during the summers . Not only do Debbie and I enjoying playing together , but these couple outings have proven to be one of the best ways for us to meet fellow res-
