Liberation Day The Channel Islands were the only part of the British Isles to be occupied by German forces in WW2. The five year occupation came to an end on 9 May 1945 and Liberation Day is a public holiday still celebrated annually.
Battle of Flowers Held mid-August, this carnival is renowned for its colourful floral floats and dancers.
Food Fests Big Eat Guernsey will run in April and October with monthlong festival menus and food events. Jersey also showcases delicious local fayre at a variety of events throughout the year. World Pilot Gig Championships
