FOUNDER’S NOTE
The cries from all over the world are deafening.
Almost everyday, I hear news about wars, terror attacks,
killings, and injustices. This has occupied my mind as I’m
trying to understand the concept of war. Why are there wars
and conflicts in the first place?
Many justify their heinous acts as a form of achieving justice;
a longing to end their own suffering. If we pay close attention,
we will realize that almost always, people on either side
of conflicts cry for the same end goal to gain justice. That
being said, why should one resort to violence and engage
in a bloody combat where we have a better way to achieve
justice? That option, my dear readers, is the neglected
concept of peace education which will be the focus of this
month’s issue.
Change Mag August 2017 issue will bring stories and
initiatives that ought to inspire you to open-up your minds
and hopefully start conversations about peace education
and resolving conflicts through peace talks. Many big voices
veer away from this idea but we think it’s time to set aside
our differences and be what we all should be - global citizens
who listen.
We have other worthwhile articles on different grassroots
initiatives around the globe that might interest you too. Our
new segment on “Dialogues with Impact Investors” is a must-
read as it teaches social entrepreneurs who seek insider
advice and entrepreneurial hacks from the
investors themselves.
I hope this issue will be another eye-opener for you as we
continue to bring grassroots stories that impact lives.
May peace be with you!
