Firstly, can we say thank you for joining us on this journey and
agreeing to be a programmeOne champion.
You will be playing a really important role within
programmeOne. You will be helping to keep
the programme team in touch with colleagues
working in the business; getting the business
ready for changes to our ways of working,
and supporting colleagues to engage with the
programme as we continue on our transformation
journey.
programmeOne was born out of a realisation that
our business, while achieving its goals, wasn’t
doing it in the most straightforward of ways.
Imagine a swan, gliding serenely on the surface
of a lake, while underneath padding frantically
to maintain its course. We knew colleagues were
feeling these frustrations, and while we were
delivering great services, we needed to be fi t for
the future. We took the decision that ‘while the sun
was shining, we should fi x the roof’ and so starting
with a blank piece of paper we began to redesign
how we might do things, unpicking complexity
and creating a platform for our partnership.
Transforming how we do things doesn’t happen
overnight. We have had to harness the knowledge,
expertise and energy of colleagues from across
the business as we work towards our vision of
simplifi cation, joined up working, and a more
consistent experience for all.
We’ve already explored what the future of our
business looks like at a high level, but now, as new
ways of working and technological solutions start
to be introduced into the business, we’ll need to
