#GGGAALUMNI ADAM FRIEDMAN GGGA sat down with Alumni Adam Friedman to ask him how college life is! Update us on where you’re at, Adam! I’m currently a freshman at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida. I’m a Finance major and I’m minoring in Marketing. I just recently was added as a member of the FAU All Academic Team, recognizing athletes for high GPAs. I’ve been playing golf since I was 14 years old. My brother and Dad introduced me to the game and I fell in love with it. What do you love about being a college athlete and how did GGGA prepare you for the experience? I’ve always been competitive. I always compete with myself to see if I can do better, so being a student athlete fuels that. GGGA prepared me to take care of myself, I learned life skills and self management. I was ready for college life because I came in disciplined. I transitioned into something a little different and challenging with academics and golf in college, but my focus remained the same. While I was at GGGA, I learned what the game of golf is truly about - the respect and traditions. You can have an incredible golf game, but it’s really the way you treat people that lasts. What advice can you give to junior golfers? The opportunities GGGA provides are unique and they truly focus on the student. They provide you with all the tools you need to succeed. For any junior golfer they need to remember that even with the most elite training you’re not going to excel unless you put in the effort, determination and build you’re work ethic. I reached my goals at GGGA by trusting the process and trusting my coaches. Adam (4th from the left with his FAU teamates) How do you reach your goals? If you want to be successful - set your goals and keep your vision in the forefront at all times. If you have that vision - make every decision move you closer to it. Every swing, every drill and every meal you have can get you one step closer to where you want to be. You’re going to go through ups and downs, but accept them and move forward the best you can. Trust the process and you’ll improve your golf game and you’ll become a better person for it. Why do you think GGGA Alumni should come back to work with their former coaches? I’ve come back to train a few times and I think its important because college is a time where you get to learn about yourself and figure out who you are. It’s also a time of a lot of distractions and trying to balance social, academics and athletics. It’s tough, but being able to return to GGGA so you can experience the old routines, and the memories of your training and your goals in the game of golf is inspiring and motivating! “GGGA is
