A LETTER FROM GARY All golfers have goals and dreams that they want to achieve. As I always say, a dream without a plan is false hope! Those golfers who invest in their training see results. What is your why… WHY do you train? For some, it’s the opportunity to improve their preparation plan for tournament play. In just the last month, several of our short- term and camp students have left GGGA training to go on and WIN tournaments in the US, Chile, and Puerto Rico. I love to see our students achieving results so quickly by applying techniques and improvements taught to them at GGGA! For others, it is the opportunity to play golf in college. The path to college includes improving your handicap, developing your swing, playing in the right tournaments for visibility and solid results! This month, we spoke with full- time program alumni Adam Friedman to find out more about how his training at GGGA prepared him for being a student-athlete at the collegiate level. I’ve shared some tips in a mental article this month that I utilize with my professional students for mental preparation before tournaments. Having a productive practice plan using the drills and routines that help them achieve the right feel so they are confident when they need to hit as shot under pressure is vital. It is also really important to utilize the opportunities before a tournament, such as in a practice round, to focus on the short game. Paying close attention to the greens and hazards on each hole is key to good preparation. Pros also consider pin placements in advance. They practice how to get up and down from areas that they are likely to see in the course of play. We teach the same principals at the academy but it is important to note that the process is the same for every level of player. Enjoy the photos in this issue highlighting the Spring Break 2017 Cocoa Beach day and poolside barbeque. Part of preparing to win is taking the opportunity to enjoy time with family and friends. Life outside of golf is important. I love seeing the students having fun and enjoying themselves! All the best,
