2025 Neighborhood Matching Grant Program Opens August 6

The City of Arlington announced another Neighborhood Matching Grant call for projects on August 6 . Through this year ’ s program , $ 150,000 is available to fund improvement projects that will beautify and enhance the public spaces and strengthen neighborhoods throughout The American Dream City . The grant cycle opened August 6 and applications are due by November 1 , 2024 .
NEIGHBORHOOD GROUPS
If a neighborhood does not have a homeowners association ( HOA ) or is not registered with the state , they are eligible to apply for grants up to $ 10,000 , if they have a formal neighborhood group , such as a Crime Watch Group . They also must have an Internal Revenue Service Employer Identification Number and a bank account in the group ’ s name . Examples of eligible projects include neighborhood capacity building , landscaping , neighborhood signage , sign toppers , public art , park improvements , and streetscape enhancements .
The River Bend neighborhood recently completed their signage project funded thru the Neighborhood Matching Grant program .
HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATIONS ( HOA ) AND STATE-REGISTERED HOA
Any neighborhood registered as an HOA or nonprofit with the State of Texas can apply for a grant up to $ 25,000 for an eligible project . For a project to be considered , it must be submitted by neighbors , serve a public purpose , have a detailed timeline , and meet all City codes . Each neighborhood must also contribute 20 % grant match towards the project , although in some cases , a cash match is not required . Examples of eligible projects include neighborhood capacity building , landscaping , neighborhood signage , sign toppers , public art , park improvements , and streetscape enhancements .
