City of Arlington to Invest $ 77,660 in Neighborhood Matching Grant Projects in 2024
The City continues to invest in neighborhoods throughout The American Dream City , with the Arlington City Council approving $ 77,660 in new Neighborhood Matching Grants for four projects across the city .
The Neighborhood Matching Grant program was developed in 2007 to foster civic pride , enhance neighborhoods and encourage collaboration between residents and City government . The program aligns with the City Council priority to Champion Great Neighborhoods . The City has awarded $ 1,360,982 in grants to 138 projects since the program began .
For a project to be considered , it must be submitted by neighbors , serve a public purpose , have a detailed timeline , and meet all City codes . Each neighborhood must also contribute 20 % grant match towards the project through cash , in-kind donations and / or volunteer hours .
