Open Dialogue With Emporia Public Schools
The Emporia Area Chamber and Visitors Bureau Government Matters Committee along with the League of Women Voters will host a Dialogue with the Emporia Public Schools Board of Directors at noon on Friday , October 21 , 2016 , at the Mary Herbert Education Center , 1700 West Seventh Ave . Dialogues are open to the public and free to attend . Water and coffee will be provided and attendees are welcome to bring a sack lunch with them .
Dialogues are a series of community political forums organized each year by the Chamber ’ s Government Matters Committee and the League of Women Voters . All Dialogues are free to attend . This series of forums provides a great opportunity for the public to voice their concerns and ideas to their elected officials .
Business of the Year
The Emporia Area Chamber of Commerce and Convention & Visitors Bureau is accepting nominations for its 2016 Business of the Year award . To nominate a business you feel deserves this award , complete the form below . Nomination forms are due in the Chamber office by November 4 , 2016 . Each nominee will receive an application to complete and return to the Chamber .
Award Criteria 1 . Nominee must currently be a Chamber member . 2 . Nominee ’ s work force must not exceed 100 persons . 3 . Nominee must have been in business for a minimum of three years . 4 . Nominee must exhibit community involvement . 5 . Nominee cannot be a non-profit organization or a nationally recognized chain or franchise .
