Kim Redeker The Sweet Granada

Kim Redeker opened The Sweet Granada in downtown Emporia in November 2004 with her mother . With her mother now retired , she is the owner / manager of the gourmet chocolate shop that ’ s grown to be a local favorite as well as a destination for visitors .

Kim grew up in Coffey County graduating from Burlington High School . She then attended the University of Kansas where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Journalism . Before diving into the world of entrepreneurship , Kim worked in marketing and fundraising for fourteen years for The Wichita Eagle , Bank of America and Presbyterian Manors of Mid- America .

Kim is married to Steve Redeker , a database administrator at Emporia State University , and has two children , Emmy and Joe . Emmy is an ESU student studying education and Joe is pursuing a physics degree at the University of Chicago .

Dr . Dean Hollenbeck has been President of Flint Hills Technical College since 2006 . Previous to that he was at Colorado Northwestern Community College and the Colorado

Dean Hollenbeck began his career as an Agriculture instructor in Lenapah , Oklahoma in 1974 . He received his Bachelors of Science degree in Agriculture Education from Oklahoma State University , his Masters and Ph . D . in Vocational Education Administration from Colorado State University in 1987 . Dr . Hollenbeck is very active in the Emporia Community setting on several committees and boards throughout his time in Emporia .
