4 December 2016 Emporia Area Chamber of Commerce and Convention & Visitors Bureau From the President We have just finished with Thanksgiving, but many are still writing out their thanks every day on Facebook. I too feel truly blessed and am thankful for all the people who work hard to make our community a better place to live. This year’s leadership is no exception. We have accomplished a lot this year, and it could not be done without the support of our Board of Directors, Committee Chairs and volunteers. Jeanine McKenna President & CEO The Emporia Area Chamber and Visitors Bureau is the community’s leading advocate and champion for business. Our mission is to be proactive in creating an environment for business and community success. The Emporia Area Chamber and Visitors Bureau provides leadership programs and opportunities, as well as volunteer programs and business-building initiatives that focus on the critical priorities of the community. By leveraging the support, talent and resources of its diverse businesses and members, the Emporia Area Chamber and Visitors Bureau is one of the leading organizations helping to improve the economic vitality and quality of life for everyone. All of the above could not have been accomplished without the leadership shown by our Chairman Pete Euler. He has done more than just giving his time and talent to our organization. He has shown great passion in wanting to make our community a great place for everyone. We are better for his efforts. We also have several outgoing Board Members who I want to thank: Clark Allemang, Helbert & Allemang; Bill Henricks, Insurance Planning Center; and Jon Reed with Home Town Health Care. Thank you for your gift of time and knowledge, and serving the past three years on our Board of Directors. As with all outgoing Board Members, my hope is that we continue our relationship in working together on future projects. The changes that have taken place could not have happened without their support. Next month starts the beginning of a New Year, and we are gearing up for a lot of exciting changes. We will continue to be aggressive in focusing on areas that are important to you. We will continue the process of serving your needs, and I think you will be pleased with the direction we are heading. I always welcome any comments and suggestions. Our office is here to serve you. It’s a Great Day in Emporia! Please tell someone.
