HUNTING
Northern New Hampshire and Vermont provides the
perfect setting to hunt deer, black bear, moose, wild
turkey, small game, upland birds and waterfowl. The
thick forest, wooded primarily with balsam fir, beech,
cherry and birch, provides a way to put truly fresh
local food on your table. This vast, remote wilderness
is open to public hunting and is accessible by
logging roads, four-wheeled drive roads or afoot. An
abundant supply of wild blueberries, blackberries
and raspberries provide tasty treats for wildlife,
particularly the black bear.

a deep cold water lake and home to lake
trout and landlocked salmon. This lake

Lake Francis
Northern NH offers some of the finest grouse and
woodcock hunting in northern New England. The
stocking of ring-necked pheasant several weekends
in October introduces a new facet of game bird
hunting to the North Country.
A man-made lake that lies north of the
village of Pittsburg. Partially developed
and home to landlocked salmon, lake trout
and brown trout.
Moose hunting in New Hampshire and Vermont is
done by a lottery system. If you get lucky enough to
be chosen you have a good chance of success in the
Great North Woods.
