SNOWMOBILING
With over 700 miles of New Hampshire’s 7000+ mile trail system
located in the Great North Woods, snowmobile enthusiasts flock
to this area. Trails are groomed often for your riding pleasure.
With an average 13-15 week trail season, it is the longest in the
state of NH. This area conveniently offers trails that connect
to Vermont, Maine and Canada. You can come north, stay a
weekend and never ride the same trail twice! Terrains bring you
throughout the wilderness to see the wildlife and views, and
you can stay at one of our many lodging establishments that are
located right on the trails. If you haven’t been up this way yet,
you’ve got to come see for yourself what draws folks back year
after year...and, as always, ride safely!

Snowmobiling is a privilege and is permitted only through the generosity of thousands of
private property owners. Respecting the land by showing courtesy to landowners will ensure
that New England’s best trail system remains open for years to come.

Our local snowmobile clubs work tirelessly all winter, grooming
and maintaining the trails so your riding experience is the best
that it can be. In the Great North Woods, the trail systems are
primarily maintained by the Pittsburg Ridge Runners, Colebrook
Ski Bees, Swift Diamond Riders, Umbagog Snowmobile
Association, Stratford Nighthawks, and Groveton Trail Blazers.
When crossing into Vermont the VAST system in our region
is maintained by the Canaan Border Riders. Please be sure to
support or give a big thank you to the clubs wherever you ride.
Throughout the season, multiple snowmobiling events take
place. Poker runs, fundraising rides, vintage races and one of the
most popular in our area, The NH Snodeo. The Snodeo is a two
day event based at Coleman State Park in Stewartstown, NH.
It has grown into one of the Northeast’s premier snowmobile
events, giving riders a chance to test out next year’s sleds, watch
events, and browse and buy from various participating vendors.
The Snodeo was named one of Snowgoer Magazine’s “One of
the top 10 must experience snowmobile events”.
