bagging their limit.
NEW ENGLAND’S
BEST FISHING
CONTENT FOR THIS PAGE WAS PROVIDED BY LOPSTICK.
There are more than 200,000 acres in Pittsburg of
dense spruce forests giving way to areas of clearcut
woods. Ample mountain steams, high mountain bogs
and the fertile river valleys are all accessible thanks to
numerous logging roads.
Pittsburg is famous for its large bucks, frequently
exceeding 200 pounds. The Indian Stream valley is a
favorite of big buck hunters, while others prefer the
Magalloway Mountain area. Snow often arrives early,
sometime during October, which makes tracking
easier.

NORTH COUNTRY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
The Upper Connecticut Region of New
Hampshire is considered one of the prime
fly fishing grounds of the Eastern United
States. The headwaters of the mighty
Connecticut River rise near the Canadian
border, beginning its 440-mile route to
the sea. The tail-water dams disgorge the
icy cold water into fast-running streams
that are the perfect environment for
native Brook, Rainbow and Brown Trout,
as well as Landlocked Salmon on their
annual springtime and fall spawning runs.
Additionally, Smallmouth Bass can be found
in Back Lake.
This pristine section of New Hampshire is a
series of crystal-clear lakes and ponds, most
open to fishing of all kinds. Fish from shore,
kayaks, canoes, and motorboats.
