Five Things Your Realtor Wants You to do When Starting the Home Buying Process

1 . Meet with your Real Estate agent to review the Home Buying process . Choose a Real Estate Agent that is familiar with the area you intend to look and have them go over the home buying process with you . If you familiarize yourself with the process it will make for a smoother home buying experience .
2 . Meet with a lender to get pre-qualified . After you have chosen an experienced Real Estate Agent you should talk with a Mortgage Lender . A Mortgage Lender will go over mortgage rates with you and also check your credit scores which will have a big impact on your monthly payment .
4 . Educate yourself on different loan programs that are available . The lender you choose will go over the different loan programs available in your area , but it is a good idea to know what options you have . This can go a long way in making sure your loan suits all of your needs .
3 . Know your finances enough to know the payment you ’ re comfortable with . Go over your monthly payments you are responsible for each month and this will give you a better idea of the mortgage payment you will be comfortable with . This will also allow the lender to determine the loan amount that would match your monthly payment .
5 . Save for a down-payment ahead of time if possible . Many people believe that you must have 20 % down to qualify for a mortgage . In today ’ s market that is not true . There are many low down-payment options and even some no money down options available to those looking to purchase a home , but saving for a down-payment will keep your payment lower and could also help with your interest rate .
