President’s Message Attention B’nei Mitzvah Families L’dor Va dor: Nominating the Next Temple Chai Board At Sinai Moses received the Torah and handed it over to Joshua who handed it over to the elders who handed it over to the prophets who in turn handed it over to the men of the Great Assembly. Pirkei Avot 1:1 Since the time of Moses, it has been our duty and obligation as the Jewish people to pass our traditions down from generation to generation. In modern times, our traditions have been and continue to be transmitted through the synagogue and its leaders. These leaders are volunteers who devote countless hours to insuring Jewish continuity and doing sacred work. The Temple Chai Nominating Committee will soon be engaged in identifying and selecting a slate of new officers for the coming year. Temple Chai leadership is a marvelous opportunity to help develop the educational, programmatic and spiritual direction of our temple and to be a partner in the creation of a secure financial and spiritual future for generations yet to come. Please don’t forget to submit a photo for the ChaiLites at least three (3) months prior to your ceremony. Drop off, mail or email a clear photo of your child with his/her name and date of their service on the back. If sending a jpg, please put the child’s name and date of the service in the subject line and email it to [email protected]. Also, please return the B’nei Mitzvah form so we know how you would like your name(s) listed on the B’nei Mitzvah page and all other publicity. Please contact Deborah Greenswag to schedule your pre Bnei Mitzvah photos 3 months prior to your mitzvah. She can be reached at 847-537-1771 x222 or [email protected].
