The survey covered a wide array of subjects, including Jewish identity, religious beliefs and practices, attitudes towards Israel, and intermarriage, among other issues. I encourage you to review the complete report, “A Portrait of Jewish Americans,” at www.pewforum.org/ files/2013/10/jewish-american-full-reportfor-web.pdf. These are just some of the intriguing results of the study. The Pew Center report separates Jews into two categories: The first category is Jews by religion, those who say their religion is Jewish (and who do not profess any other religion); the second category is Jews of no religion, those who describe themselves as atheist, agnostic or nothing in particular, but who have a Jewish parent or were raised Jewish and who still consider themselves Jewish in some way. The survey contains a gold mine of data about the American Jewish community. continued on page 4 Looking for some family fun time? Refer to page 7 for more details.
