THE DRIVING FORCE

I start my day with meditation , which is about repetition of certain movements everyday , like a day-night cycle driven by nature . I feel very excited whenever I think about starting a new series of work which is also connected with repetition . This journey of an everyday practice leads to a fulfilling self and artistic expression .
How do you think art and creativity can help drive change in society ?
I think it ’ s a tool to express oneself instead of changing the world . Why would we even want to change anything in the world . I think this world is beautiful and first we need to change ourselves in order to change things around us .
How do you stay inspired ?
Nature is a huge inspiration and yet we don ’ t even know a single thing about it . We only speculate how nature works but we cannot reveal its mysteries . Yet it inspires me everyday and motivates me to express myself in whatever way comes naturally to me .
What are the different themes that surround your work ?
I don ’ t base my works according to a certain theme , I do it in a manner that anyone may connect to it . It ’ s not a formula to make art , in fact it is just an expression like a language which one can speak on their own .
Mirrors are basically my main subject . These days , a mirror is not just a tool for reflection , in fact it ’ s a concept of sun and moon . Moon is a mirror that reflects sunlight , as the moon is not luminescent . It is a giant mirror on the sky . We have this example in our bodies also . When we divide it from center , it ’ s like a mirror . Our hands look the same but they are a mirror image of each other .
Who is your favourite artist these days ?
Helidon xhixha
Who is your all time favourite artist ?
