CODESTACK
W ith more than 70 engineers , CodeStack is the largest software development group in San Joaquin County , building and maintaining software , web and mobile applications used by over 5,000 school districts nationwide and several other state , public and private organizations .
As a department within the San Joaquin County Office of Education , CodeStack is also a public agency dedicated to serving the community and increasing access to highquality technology education .
CodeStack Academy for adults opened in 2018 as Stockton ’ s first immersive , accelerated software engineering school focused on building a skilled , diverse , inclusive pipeline of coding talent in the Stockton region . Students complete over 1,000 classroom hours and a twomonth internship working on real-world community projects . CodeStack Academy offers free enrollment to individuals who meet income requirements and is an official California Eligible Training Provider . CodeStack also offers free coding workshops at its bi-weekly CodeStack Meetup , which is open to the public .
To build that talent pipeline even further , CodeStack has also developed an engaging computer science course that fulfils state A-G requirements for college admission . This curriculum is currently being taught to our most at-risk youth at the Discovery ChalleNGe Academy ( a residential program ), court / community schools and in Juvenile Hall .
CodeStack has also partnered with the national Girls Who Code nonprofit to help close the technology gender gap , as well as Codecademy and Pluralsight to offer more resources and access to coding education . CodeStack also hosts the annual H2O Hackathon , the largest hackathon in the county with over $ 20,000 in cash prizes , where teams of students develop apps to help California solve its water issues .
CodeStack knows firsthand the importance of equitable access to coding education and the opportunities it can bring . CodeStack is more committed than ever in helping students develop technological skills so they may build a stronger future for themselves and their communities .
