Poetry

By: Rachel Hutter

I fear I'll die from complications,

Complications due to things that I've left undone

That all my debts will be left unpaid, feel like a cripple without a cane

I'm like a jack of all trades who's a master of none (“Grand Optimist”, City and Color.)

Lead me to the truth and I will follow you with my whole life (“White Blank Page”, Mumford and Sons.)

And I'll keep on running this never ending race

maybe next time will be the right time

and maybe next time will be your time (“Save Your Scissors”, City and Color.)

Impossible, maybe, but worth one last try

I'm waiting on your own reply

I'm sitting here patiently just for the chance that I might

Be able to hold you tight (“The Look”, Ryan Tedder.)

And I want to know what makes your world go round

And I want to hear your voice for the sound

A love that defines all I've had in mind

Now I'm holding back nothing for the look in your eyes (“The Look”, Ryan Tedder.)

But tell me now, where was my fault

In loving you with my whole heart? (“White Blank Page”, Mumford and Sons.)
