GS01 - State Mandated Payment to CESAs
As per Wisconsin State Statute 116.08(5), each district pays their share of a total amount of $25,000 based on
their district's average daily membership as it compares to the total average daily membership of all CESA 5
districts. This payment is designated for the maintenance and operation of the office of the Board of Control
and Agency Administrator.
Wisconsin State Statute 116.08(5) (b)
Beginning in the 1984-85 school year and annually thereafter, each school board shall pay to the Board of
Control of the agency of which it is a part an amount equal to the amount of state aid paid to the agency in
that year under sub. (1) multiplied by a fraction consisting of the school district average daily membership as
the numerator and the agency average daily membership as the denominator.
GS02 - Driver's Education
CESA 5 currently provides Driver's Education services in three districts. The program in each of these districts
is designed based on the needs of the District. We provide classroom and/or Behind the Wheel (BTW)
instruction.
The individual school defines the curriculum, enrollment, tracks the students, and collects the fees. CESA 5
typically provides the licensed instructor, the vehicle, and all of the necessary supplies and insurance to keep
the vehicle operational. The instructors we use are all DPI certified and have many years of experience.
CESA 5 charges for the service on a per student basis. The charges can range from less than $300 for BehindThe-Wheel only; to under $400 for a complete Driver Education experience. (Actual cost for your program will
depend on program requirements, instructor availability, and vehicle cost.)
