SP09 - Teacher for the Deaf & Hard of Hearing - Itinerant The teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing provides direct service to the students in their home district. The teacher is responsible for evaluation, IEP development, direct service and consultation for students who are deaf and hard of hearing. Deaf & Hard of Hearing Itinerant Teacher cost is calculated based on units of service. How Can This Service Benefit Your District? Our Hearing Special Education Staff are experienced in an array of instructional strategies. They are closely supervised and supported by our Program Support Leader. SP10 - Occupational Therapy Individual education planning of occupational therapy as a related service is determined by the IEP team. Direct service or consultation is provided by the occupational therapist or the COTA (Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant). This service is intended to improve and coordinate educational opportunities to increase a child's physical abilities to meet his/her educational goals. Occupational Therapy costs are calculated based on units of service. How Can This Service Benefit Your District? Our therapy staff are highly qualified, experienced and provide appropriate services in the child's natural environment. SP11 - Orientation & Mobility - Itinerant Orientation and Mobility Instruction may be a related service provided in an individual IEP to students who are visually impaired. The Orientation and Mobility teacher provides direct service and consultation to increase the student’s independence, as well as improve their ability to move, both in the classroom and in community settings. The Orientation and Mobility teacher typically works closely with the district staff and vision teachers to ensure student success in the school setting.
