SanĂ¡ Rasul, PHR, creates ways for women who are
HR professionals to network, learn and give back to
the community through her HR Girlfriends group. She
describes her passion for helping other women in human
resources and why certification is important to her.
Certified: What is HR Girlfriends, and what is its mission?
SanĂ¡ Rasul: HR Girlfriends is a networking community for women
working in or providing services to the field of human resources.
The mission of HR Girlfriends is to create a collaborative
environment that supports authentic networking among those
women. HR Girlfriends knows no color lines, and all women are
welcome.
When I started HR Girlfriends, I knew that I wanted an
organization that was rooted in these core principles: authentic
networking or connections, community service and education.
Almost from the outset, I partnered with Dress for Success
Washington D.C. to empower the women of HR Girlfriends to give
the best of themselves to women who are seeking opportunities
to succeed. The women are also encouraged to obtain secondary
and post-secondary education, in addition to taking an HR
Certi
