destroy months of child proofing our home. I find myself frustrated, because I desire to pursue dreams beyond motherhood, yet the needs of my children trump the importance of a business call or the urgency of a deadline. I have come to the realization that I am one woman with finite abilities. I can be a progressive businesswoman and an attentive mom, but not always at the same time. At any given season in my life, one area takes back seat to the other. Even when you juggle, at least one item is always in the air while the others rest securely in your hands. Mathematics tells us that if one piece is missing, inadvertently the whole no longer exists. The question becomes, which area will take priority today. Will I have to miss my daughter's dance recital for a business trip? Am I too tired to read my child a bedtime story due to a hectic day at the office?
