Real Life Weddings
Before walking down the aisle I could hear the harpist playing Canon and D’s Pachelbel. We were reunited under the archway were we made our vows and exchanged our rings.
I laughed the majority of the way through the vows due to nerves. Ste was very amused (not). After signing the registers we left the room to be covered in confetti or rather eating it as some family members never had a really good aim. It seemed so unreal that we were finally man and wife. All our family and friends shared their congratulations with us and we posed for some photographs and took a ride in our car.
We then ventured up to the Turret suite for our wedding breakfast. The food was delicious. 4 lovely course went down a treat the wedding cake looked amazing on the stand and the décor was beautiful. Our Pianist played romantic songs throughout and our best man’s speech went down a treat.
After the wedding breakfast our photographer’s drove us to the adjoining beach for some photographs. That was an experience as I felt like Marilyn Monroe in the wind trying to keep my dress down, and we ended up posing alongside the Coastguard! The evening reception was set up and ready when we returned. We had a homemade candy buffet and amazing live band playing alongside the resident DJ who was also great and kept people going all night long. To our amazement the guests stayed for the majority of the night all thanking us for the lovely day they had. We could not have hoped for any better.

We had a vintage inspired theme, using butterfly’s lace, quirky favours.
What inspired you when planning your wedding?
Looking through wedding magazines and watching wedding programmes and picking out the ideas I liked and making them my own.
What was your budget?
£12,000 and we stuck to it!
Where did you overspend and where did you save?
We never overspent. I would say wasted money on certain things such as the dress change! We saved by hand making a lot of our things such as invites and favours.
