Greetings , my Confident and Captivating Sorors ,
I wanted to be an AKA . I attended the Rush . The chapter president asked me , “ what will you contribute to Alpha Kappa Alpha ?” I responded , “ I will provide the graphic arts skills I have acquired in matriculation here at Chicago State University .” That was 27 years ago .
Our beloved sorority embodies elegance , sophistication , exclusivity , and a special pride in how we present ourselves to the world . This is OUR BRAND , and we must “ walk it like we talk it ” in everything we do . It is pure , simple , and personal .
Madam Supreme Basileus , Danette Anthony Reed , has set a vision of One Sorority , One Brand . The Central Regional Director , Kiahna W . Davis , is steadfast and focused on carrying this vision throughout her administration , TeamREADY , and leaving a legacy for our region .

The Central Scene was established to elevate the Central Region ’ s presence , connect ALL chapters , and engage EVERY soror in the conversation . The Central Scene is a quarterly Central Region information portal to share news , connect ideas , provide resources , and engage people .
Twenty-seven years ago , I made a promise . As your Editor-in- Chief , I promise to continue to Walk it It Like I Talk it It .
