CANCER WELLNESS FOUNDATION OF CENTRAL ALABAMA
MISSION : The mission of the Cancer Wellness Foundation of Central Alabama is to provide supportive services , educational services and assistance to cancer patients throughout central Alabama , including those patients who lack the resources necessary to otherwise receive comprehensive healthcare .
BRAG LINES : In 2023 , the Cancer Wellness Foundation of Central Alabama provided :
$ 37,965,226.50 in total assistance with medications through our Patient Advocacy program .
$ 58,855.52 – Retail value of Well-Card Program $ 833,900.00 – Co-Pay Assistance from various foundations $ 37,072,470.98 – Free drug program through manufacturers
885 patients received transportation assistance ( ambulatory and non-ambulatory ) and 8794 ( unique ) rides for patients to the cancer center ( patients who do not have their own transportation ).
$ 174,074.64 in transportation assistance – includes private transportation and reloadable gas cards .
2300 + Chemo Comfort Care Bags to new patients
Distributed 115 cases of Boost or Ensure to cancer patients who are identified as at risk for malnutrition .
Provided 76 lymphedema compression garments for breast cancer patients .
The Wig Gig – 52 free wigs to cancer patients
