Troy University ’ s online bachelor ’ s degree program in psychology and its master ’ s program in criminal justice were ranked in the top 20 nationally , according to U . S . News & World Report ’ s “ 2023 Best Online Degree Programs ” rankings . TROY ’ s online bachelor ’ s of psychology program was ranked 12th nationally , while the criminal justice program was ranked 16th in the “ Best Online Master ’ s in Criminal Justice for Veterans ” rankings .
SAMKEE CORP TO OPEN ITS FIRST U . S . FACTORY IN ALABAMA
Samkee Corp ., a major South Korean automotive supplier , plans to invest $ 128 million to open its first U . S . factory in Alabama through a project that will create 170 jobs in Tuskegee , providing an economic boost for Macon County . After finalizing agreements with state and local authorities , Samkee Corp . will begin construction on the new manufacturing facility in the Tuskegee Commerce Park , where it will become the city ’ s first auto parts manufacturer . Samkee will serve as a Tier 1 supplier to Hyundai Motor Co . The new jobs will pay an average wage of just over $ 20 an hour , according to the Alabama Department of Commerce . Parts production at the advanced casting facility in Macon County is expected to begin in 2024 .
GUARDIAN CREDIT UNION TO EXPAND , BUILD HEADQUARTERS IN PRATTVILLE
Guardian Credit Union is building its first official headquarters in Prattville . Construction is underway on the new 57,000-square-foot facility , which will accommodate Guardian ’ s continued growth and expanding geographical footprint , as well as strengthen its collaborative internal culture . While this expansion will immediately bring more than 100 jobs to the Prattville community , it will provide a space where future growth is possible and anticipated .
