January 31 , 2023 Mayor Steven L . Reed delivered his 2023 State of the City Address on January 31st . He shared about Montgomery ’ s record year in 2022 and its economic development success with more than $ 1.7 billion invested in our community and 1,518 announced jobs . He also announced that Montgomery ’ s unemployment rate stands at 2.7 % which is tied for the second lowest in a decade . Mayor Reed addressed these and other successes and shared his plans for the year ahead and solutions to longstanding challenges .
