MONTGOMERY WHITEWATER LAUNCHES HIGH- ENERGY WHITEWATER TUBING EXPERIENCE

Montgomery Whitewater Park announced the launch of its newest high-adventure experience: whitewater tubing! Participants will navigate a whitewater-certified inflatable tube through the whitewater channel system. This new activity offers a more active take on traditional tubing, combining the approachable format of a single-person float with the challenge and movement of whitewater rafting. Two tubing options will be available: Full-Flow Whitewater Tubing and Low-Flow Whitewater Tubing.

Thompson Insurance, Inc. and Faulkner University signed two agreements on July 18 to launch new scholarship and internship opportunities for students pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Risk Management and Insurance( RMI) through Faulkner’ s Harris College of Business and The Stumbaugh School of Risk Management & Insurance.

CENTRAL ALABAMA COMMUNITY FOUNDATION AWARDS OVER $ 130,000 IN EDUCATION GRANTS TO RIVER REGION NONPROFITS

The Central Alabama Community Foundation( CACF) awarded more than $ 130,000 in Wellness and Education Grants to nonprofit organizations serving students and educators throughout the River Region. The grants were presented at a ceremony held June 26 at the Wetumpka Impact Crater Discovery and Visitors Center.

ADVA ANNOUNCES ESTIMATED TIMELINE FOR WELCOMING DISPLACED RESIDENTS BACK TO THE STATE VETERANS HOME

Alabama Department of Veterans Affairs( ADVA) Commissioner Jeff Newton met with veterans displaced from the Command Sgt. Maj. Bennie G. Adkins State Veterans Home to provide an update on the facility’ s restoration. Veterans were evacuated to the Enterprise Health and Rehabilitation Center after a fire at the veterans home on April 16. Commissioner Newton, joined by Enterprise Mayor William E. Cooper, informed the veterans that the estimated timeline for restoration is 12-14 months.
