Experience Lacombe’s three museums located in our historic Edwardian downtown: the Flatiron Museum, Michener House Museum, and Blacksmith Shop Museum. Founded in 1984, the Michener House Museum is located in the oldest surviving home in Lacombe built in 1894. Threatened with demolition in 1971, the house was the first conservation effort to save a heritage building in the community. The house is also historically significant for being the birthplace of Roland Michener, Governor General of Canada from 1967 to 1974.
