fitness Breakthroughs Davis Page grew up as an athlete. He was the only four sport athlete in high school (football, basketball, baseball, and track) and went on the play three years of college baseball at Tyler Junior College and Abilene Christian University. He then went on the play two years of independent professional baseball in the states and 6 months overseas in Australia. Since then, Davis worked odd jobs until he achieved his Personal Training Certification. Davis now trains at a gym in Hurst, Texas and also runs the athletic department for the City of Watauga. He began modeling at the beginning of this year. He did his first shoot in March of 2014 and Davis’ career really began to take off. He has done several shoots, a commercial, and a workout video in that time. In those span of year/s, who was your inspiration in modeling/fitness business? “Suzanna Sutton was the first trainer I ever worked with. Her drive and determination to be great led me to want the same thing for myself. Her mentor at the time, Brett Buckles, was also a big part of me becoming the trainer that I am today. They both played huge roles in my early success and my development as fitness professional”, the professional trainer shared. When you were growing up, what was your goal/s or perhaps dream? “I always wanted to play professional baseball growing up. From the time I was born, I had good hand eye coordination and my parents knew that my brothers and I would be athletic. I did get the chance to play professionally but not with an affiliated organization.” What was/were the experience/s when you first start your first ever modeling gig and fitness business? “Initially, I really just wanted to do a photo shoot to get myself on paper to help with my personal training business. I dieted very hard, watching my carbohydrate intake for approximately 6 weeks. I always had a good base of muscle underneath my initial body fat. The diet was the key to my success. It was a tough first experience but I fell in love with the meal plan and the lifestyle after that experience”, he recalled. As a personal trainer and a fitness model, we cannot deny that schedules are sometime pretty rough and hectic. How do you manage your time with you busy schedule? “I am very fortunate to have two of the best jobs I could ask for. I run my personal training business from 5:00-11:00 AM every morning. I then proceed to my Parks and Recreation position with the City of Watauga. They issued me a flex schedule which allows me to get 40 a week when I have time. The majority of the programs I manage take place in the afternoon and evenings. It makes things very easy to manage my time”, Davis shared. Of course, as a personal trainer, we have to practice what we preach. We have to have balance and consistency. How do you maintain your physical physique? “My schedule is probably a little different than most. I do physique training six days a week with my trainer, Brett Buckles, each day focusing on a different muscle group. I also do power lifting 1 day a week to keep my legs and core solid. I also do some sort of plyometric exercise or high intensity interval training every day. This could include anything from my own plyo routines, stadium bleacher sprints, interval training on the stair master, long distance running intervals, etc. I am on a meal plan year round that keeps me lean, cheating once a week ty
