19 Daylighting The largely glass facade allows daylight to penetrate the building, while the glazing selection and exterior shading devices regulate the amount of direct sunlight, and therefore solar heat gain. The design distributes indirect light to the glass working studios located deeper within the building. The diagram above also illustrates how the ventilation system is used to regulate the space’s air flow and temperature.
