CEPL's Continuous Improvement Well Received by IACREOT
T he Center for Excellence in Public Leadership is proud to partner with the International Association of Clerks, Recorders, Election Officials, and Treasurers (IACREOT) to offer a Certification in Public Leadership.
At this year's IACREOT Annual Conference in Coconut Point, Florida, Lead to the Future President Dr. Stephanie Olexa presented a full-day workshop, entitled “Creating Continuous Improvement.” The program reviewed the theories and practical applications of Lean Launchpad, Design Thinking, and Lean Six Sigma improvement methodology processes, which demonstrated the integration of these techniques to establish a method of continuous and sustainable improvement within organizations. The workshop was noted for its record-breaking attendance, and was widely-praised amongst conference participants. Many commented that the Business Model Canvas tools were particularly helpful, and something they would seek to implement in their respective organizations.

“Creating Continuous Improvement” workshop will introduce the theories and practices of Lean Launchpad, Design Thinking and Lean Six Sigma to demonstrate the integration of these techniques to establish a method of continuous improvement within organizations. Participants will use the Business Model Canvas and Root Cause Analysis to describe their current situations and to identify opportunities for improvement. Design thinking ideation models such as Journey Mapping, Value Mapping, Mind Mapping, and Visualization will be introduced as methods for identifying creative solutions and new opportunities. Teams will set criteria for idea selection and outline a path to successful implementation, addressing issues such as required resources, stakeholder buy-in, and projected outcomes. The participants will leave with a usable methodology to bring innovative thinking to address continuous improvement within their organizations.
