Keaton, and Woody Allen – she even influenced renowned culture icons, like Madonna, for example.

The Martha Graham Dance Company was founded in 1926, and it is becoming one of the oldest and most celebrated dance companies in the world.

Inspired by many themes – Greek mythology, North American rituals and folklore, socio-political and gender affairs - Graham created 181 pieces throughout her career; dance pieces that are constantly being performed and adapted on stage.

Several generations of artists were part of the Martha Graham Dance Company, training and inspiring some of the greatest dance names: Paul Taylor, Glen Tetley, Erick Hawkins, to name a few. A few distinguished dancers were invited to perform as guests such as Baryshnikov, Margot Fonteyn, Nureyev, and Liza Minelli.

During her career, Graham partnered with well-known contributors from many diverse art fields, such as the sculptor Isamu Noguchi, the stylists Donna Karan and Calvin Klein, and the composers Aaron Copland and Samuel Barber.

Martha Graham performed and choreographed for more than seventy years, being active until her lasts days, directing the company until the day she passed away at the age of 97, in 1991.

Graham left behind some of the greatest heritages in the arts of the twentieth century. Her repertoire will continue to be significant for years to come; the always-evolving recording technology will be an essential factor in perpetuating her legacy.
