Judy Eron has lived for 25 years in the off-the-
grid house she helped build on Terlingua Ranch.
She and her partner Charlie are two-thirds of
“The Terlingua Fill-Harmonic Symphony” that
entertains there. They escape the desert heat by
migrating yearly to the ocean in Washington
state where their band “Double J and the Boys”
performs. She is the author of What Goes Up:
Surviving the Manic Episode of a Loved One.

Hershall Seals is a teacher at the University of
Mary Hardin-Baylo r serving as Professor of Art,
Director of the Art Department teaching in Art
Metals, Painting, Art Education, and Senior
Exhibition. He earned the BFA degree from
Sam Houston State University and MFA degree
from Louisiana State University. He and his wife
Marilyn live in a restored 180-year-old farm
home outside of Belton, Texas.

Trisha Runyan is a 4th generation resident of
Presidio. After retiring from a career in commu-
nity service in Dallas and San Antonio, she pur-
chased a 100-year old adobe home built by her
great-grandfather. She serves on the Presidio
County Historical Commission, as an advisor to
the La Junta Heritage Foundation. This is her

Jim Street has spent more than 50 years in
journalism, including broadcast, newspaper,
magazine writing and public relations. He has
written about aviation for many years, and
owned the Terrell County News Leader in
Sanderson for 11 years before coming to the
Alpine Avalanche, and he now contributes to the
Big Bend Sentinel and the Cenizo Journal.

Carolyn Brown Zniewski started her
publishing career at age nine, publishing a one-
page neighborhood newsletter called The Circle.
From 1992 – 2006 she wrote a recipe column
