Muertos celebration. It’s an annual
gathering that Terlingua resident
Cynta de Narvaez describes as “a fan-
tastic ritual … the best one we have as

a community.” There will be fellow-
ship, food and candlelight. Maybe even
a spirit or two, if the dead heed our
invitation. After all, today is when the
veil between life and death is said to be
the thinnest. Tonight is about belief in
