look out over the valley on a clear night and see the city ’ s sparkling lights below .
Many things have changed since the 1940s when the first students began their studies there – changes related to population , traffic , technology , economy , transportation , and more . Gratefully , the founding principle of OMS has not changed : to build an institution that was “ dedicated to the whole person , forming men and women who deeply love the Lord , delight in the study of Scripture , have a passion for the church , and are committed to God ’ s mission .”
Over the past 80 years , thousands of graduates have committed to serve the Lord as pastors , evangelists , theologians , denominational leaders , chaplains , teachers , and more . The warm , loving , and caring seminary community has shaped and prepared graduates to have hearts of service and a passion for the lost . The impact of these graduates in Colombia and across the Latin world is significant .
Today , 3,049 students are enrolled , preparing to reach the world with Gospel truth . Celebrate with us what God has done over the past 80 years . Pray for an everincreasing impact on the world through future graduates . May that stream expand into a river that overflows its banks , blessing countless other countries worldwide in the coming years .
Editor ’ s note : Streams in the Desert , a global best-selling devotional , celebrates its 100 th anniversary this year .
