- WHAT’S HAPPENING? - Visiting Disney Springs By Shelley Caran - Disney Springs at the Walt Disney World Resort is now open, and here are some tips for making the most of your visit. Parking While the Orange and Lime garages will be open for guests to use, the Orange Garage opens first in the morning to help manage the flow of guests into Disney Springs. Upon entering the garage be sure to pay attention to new signs and to watch for additional directions from Cast Members. Temperature Screenings After you have parked, it’s time to make your way to the Disney Springs pre-admission temperature screening. Advent Health employees are administering temperature screenings at all points of entrance to Disney Springs, and any guest with a temperature over 100.4 will not be granted entrance. Also keep in mind that this is where they will be checking for guests to have on their face coverings, so have your’s on or in your hand ready to put on as you walk up. Face Coverings All Guests ages 2 and older are required to wear face coverings when visiting Disney Springs. Disney Springs also specifies that all face coverings should: • Fully cover an individual’s nose and mouth and allow the aaGuest to remain hands-free •aFit snugly but comfortably against the side of the face • Be secured with ties or ear loops • Be made of breathable material, either disposable or reusable Dining One of my favorite parts of visiting Disney Springs is grabbing a bite to eat because they have so many great options! If you are planning to have a meal, make sure you make a reservation for full-service dining locations in advance to ensure you have a table as seating is limited. Also most dining locations are not offering their full menus, so be sure to check in advance online to make sure that they have the dish you have been craving. The Walt Disney World Resort is waving its 24-hour cancellation fees for missed reservations, so if you change your mind about going out or aren’t feeling up to it you can cancel up to the last minute. If quick service is more your thing, be patient as there have been long lines, and you can reduce your wait by eating an hour before or after a ‘typical’ mealtime. Shopping Many shopping locations are open for business, but there are a few things to keep in mind before you start your shopping spree! Be prepared for cashless transactions by setting up contactless payments options such as debit or credit cards, mobile wallets, or Disney Gift Cards in advance. When waiting in line to make a purchase, be patient as most locations are taking extra time between transactions to wipe down keypads between uses. Make sure that you pay attention outside of stores for queues and social distancing markers. Check-in at both World of Disney and the Marketplace Co-Op before entering as they are both using a virtual queue system that allows you to wait in line while you shop at other locations. Spending time at Disney Springs is always fun, and I’m excited for more locations to open!
