Poundbury’s social media scene is always busy with events,
happenings and humorous photos. This month, we focus on
the Poundbury pooches that are filling our Instagram feeds…
P
oundbury has become a mecca for dog walkers in recent years. With beautiful
green spaces like The Great Field and Holmead Walk to enjoy, dog owners
from the local community and beyond flock to the area for morning runs
and afternoon strolls in the sun. Businesses are catching on too, with many
places – including The Duchess of Cornwall Inn, Finca and The Poet Laureate
– offering a dog friendly environment, where pets can get a drink, relax and even get treated
to the odd dog biscuit whilst you enjoy your meal.
Bonjour Café also welcomes doggy visitors, so much so that owner Emma Teasdale
recently set up an Instagram account solely for her visiting pooches. @poundburypaws now
has over 100 followers and features pictures of Emma’s own dachshund, Dougie, along with
other four-legged friends that frequent the café.
“It’s great that Poundbury’s getting more and more dog friendly. Especially for those of us
who take our dogs everywhere. That’s why I set up Poundbury Paws, to show off the best
pooches in Poundbury!” said Emma.
