ALL CHANGE AT THE BUTTERMARKET BAKERY
The beautiful Buttercross building is set to open its doors soon as FINCA at the Buttercross .
It follows the closure of The Buttermarket Bakery this summer and residents and tourists are eagerly awaiting the new owners . The new coffee shop will be the latest addition for owner Don Iszatt , who also owns the very popular FINCA in Great Western Road , Dorchester and another in Yeovil town centre . Don said : " We ’ re really looking forward to getting to know the community and opening FINCA in this fantastic building .” He adds that the café will have a strong focus on the coffee , which comes from their own roaster in Dorchester , delicious cakes and an extended menu for breakfast and lunch .

POUNDBURY CELEBRATED DORSET ’ S FINEST AT DORSET COUNTY SHOW
This year ’ s Dorset County Show was sponsored by The Duchy of Cornwall and the developers of Poundbury .
The event was supported by CG Fry & Son , Morrish Builders and Zero C , who sponsored the day alongside The Duchy and showcased Poundbury in their headline marquee . Ben Murphy , of The Duchy of Cornwall , said : “ As a predominantly rural estate with a long association with the town of Dorchester and people of Dorset , The Duchy of Cornwall was delighted to support The Dorset County Show alongside its developer partners in Poundbury .”
THE TREE OF LIFE
The playground at Damers First School has been brightened up by this ceramic tree designed by Des Alner .
Each child worked with the artist to make a ceramic leaf , butterfly , animal or flower . It also features the school ’ s motto – Brave , Unique , Caring and Kind . There ’ s also a striking mosaic in the heart space at the entrance of the school which features the school ’ s new butterfly logo . The ceramics were made before at the Damers Road site so that the children could be part of the school move .
