After their rapid success in the last seven years, the restaurant chain has now based its headquarters in Poundbury. The concept started life in 2009 when Richard and Nikki Cooper bought The Bull Hotel in Bridport, Dorset, and decided to convert an old stable adjacent to the property into a pizza and cider bar and restaurant. Their ethos remains unchanged – a commitment to the best quality, local ingredients, interesting and unusual topping combinations and a range of tasty ciders.

Following the success of that first restaurant, the couple have since opened 12 more in locations including Bath, Bristol, Birmingham, Cheltenham, Cardiff, Falmouth, Fistral, Winchester, Weymouth, Plymouth, Southampton and Poole and are soon opening in London.

BRACE OF BUTCHERS WINS AWARD AFTER AWARD

Since opening in October 2014, Brace of Butchers has become a huge success in Poundbury, Dorchester and further afield. So much so, that in the first 12 months the company has been recognised with three awards, both locally and nationally. Their highest accolade to date is the national Butchers Shop of the Year award for new businesses. Butchers Rob and Ben skillfully cure and age the meat in-house to improve the texture and flavour. The shop now offers more than 60 cuts of meat. Brace of Butchers also showcases some of the best producers and importers in our area to offer local game, produce, smoked seafood, beautiful cheeses, fresh baked goods and a fantastic range of local and international charcuterie.
